PPES Works (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd aims to be the State partner in development and nation building. To achieve this goal, it has implemented management systems to manage and enhance quality, safety & health and environment in the areas that it operates. Quality

PPES Works aims to fulfill its contractual obligations by:

  • Safely completing projects on time, within budget and to the required standards of quality, whilst safe-guarding the environment and considering the best interests of the community.
  • Apply best project management practices through consistent monitoring and control over sub-contractors, vendors and agents, including risk management, continual improvement and to optimization of resources, and
  • Deliver projects efficiently, economically, effectively and ethically.

Occupational Safety & Health (OSH)

PPES Works in adopting the CMS Group’s Safety & Health Policy, recognises the importance of protecting the safety, health and well-being of its employees and others associated with the businesses. The Company is committed to continuous efforts to safeguard, manage and preventing job-related injuries and illnesses. As far as practical:

  • Comply with the applicable Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 (OSHA 514) and other relevant applicable standards and statutory provisions;
  • Provide the necessary information, instruction, training and supervision to enable employees and others at the workplace to perform their tasks in safe and healthy work environment in accordance to this policy;
  • Strive to identify and ensure measures are taken to prevent or mitigate accidents and occupational hazards at the workplace; and
  • Ensure the continuous relevance and suitable of this Policy in line with changes of our business model/operations.

This OSH Policy is consistent with the CMS Groups OSH Policy.

Environment
PPES Works seeks to fulfill its responsibility to the community and natural environment affected by its operations by:

  • Ensuring minimal impact to the environment arising from its activities through effective environment monitoring and controls including identification and mitigation of environment aspects and impacts. and
  • Up-holding relevant legal and statutory requirements or guidelines on environment as stipulated under the laws and regulation of the country.

This Policy is communicated to all its stakeholders, vendors and person working for and on behalf of the Company through establishments of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems, and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems / Assessment Series.

The management has documented this IMS Policy to demonstrate its commitment towards continual improvement of the systems, in compliance with clients, customer, statutory and regulatory or legal requirements. The management shall ensure that this IMS Policy is understood within the organization and communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of CMS Roads. The IMS Policy is also made available to the public and other interested parties.It shall be reviewed for continuing suitability by the top management during the IMS Management Review meetings.
